Dyslexia and General Comfort Settings to aid Literacy for all readers

ePlatforms eBook Settings – the Settings Wizard. 

We have spent time researching how to better assist all readers ensuring ultimate comfort when reading eBooks on our ePlatform. In particular, we wanted to make it simple for those struggling readers, whether it be due to Dyslexia, Visual Impairment or any other condition that can create roadblocks to reading traditional print books, be able to adjust settings to suit with an eBook.

After speaking to many experts in the educational field – from SENCO Teachers and Literacy Specialists to National Dyslexia Groups and Students in Schools – we have customised settings to assist each reader in a simple, easy to use pathway to find the perfect setting. The options now guide readers popping up front and centre to ensure the eBook is able to be read immediately with settings that are matched to the individual reader’s needs. These settings will remain with that user until they are changed.  It will follow them on every device the user logs in to.  Easy!

Your eplatform has been automatically updated with these settings.

How does it work?

As soon as you start reading chapter 1 of your eBook - prompts will pop up automatically to offer several options for:

Background Colour | Font Style | Text Size | Letter and Line Spacing

You can click on each option to sample it before you select your choice.  This previews behind the prompt box on each click

Should you wish to delve even further - at the end you can choose ‘Advance Settings’ if you want to make additional changes.
